‘Mizu’, Japanese for water symbolises the shape of these earrings. They are hand whittled to be thinner at the edges and thicker in the centre.
Made from a cream stoneware and finished with a raw Hakeme glaze, which is matt rather than gloss, attached to a 100% sterling silver crescent moon hoop shaped by hand.
Hakeme is a traditional Japanese method of raw glazing ceramics, emphasising visible brush strokes, made with handmade rough straw brushes. This finish is simply stunning and is also used as the finish on the exterior of our mugs.
